to the balcony and to the bath -->

In Venice light is a valuable and rare good. In the narrow streets with the high buildings there are numerous apartments that are dark.

La Rosa di Venezia however is the complete opposite. Located on the second storey above an intersection of two canals, air and light flood the apartment.

La Rosa di Venezia received its name from a marvellous double bed made out of wrought iron. It is decorated over and over with hand forged roses – a work from the Umbrian artist Paolo Massei. This model was manufactured in a very limited edition: There are only two pieces in existence.

The two paintings in the apartment come from Peter Ma(h)ler, an American who lives in Vienna. He is a descendant of the composer Gustav Mahler.
